Fabrics built for Fire Retardant

Aramid fabrics have good chemical resistance and can be used in various aggressive environments. They are used for manufacturing of protective clothing for firefighters, electric workers and military.

Aramid fabrics are made of blended aramid fibers in composition of 93% Meta-Aramid, 5% Para-Aramid, 2% Antistatic. Inherent thermal, flame and electric arc protection cannot be washed away. This property of aramid fibers is built into their chemical structure. Garments made with aramid fabrics are not flammable. When exposed to flame, the aramid fiber swells and becomes thicker, forming a protective barrier between the heat source and the skin. This protective barrier stays supple until it cools down, giving the wearer vital extra seconds of protection to escape.

Q&A

Levitex FR fabric is a specially designed fabric for firefighters, forest firefighters or other safety corps which has been developed to comply with the highest protection value. This FR fabric is obtained from 100% cotton, CVC, and C/N.

Tests show that firefighters wearing synthetic suits will be more likely to suffer burns because the synthetic material melts more easily and sticks to the firefighter's skin.

Firefighters' standard firefighting clothing is made of Levitex FR fabric. It is always bright yellow, or orange, it applied to firefighting clothing because it is always easy to see.

Because thicker, tighter fabrics burn more slowly than looser, lighter fabrics of the same material, Levitex's polyester fabric has a firmer tissue without sacrificing breathability and wearing comfort.
